An Article About College Credit Card
College credit cards are the credit cards that have been specially designed for college students. School visa cards are rather more commonly known as student cards. College credit cards allow the students to experience the benefits of credit cards much earlier in their life. Thru university cards, the school scholars are able to find out more about visa cards and their use. In reality for almost all of the scholars, their university Mastercard is their first Visa card that acts as a gateway to the world of visa cards. Some other students might have previously used supplementary credit cards linked to their father’s credit card account; however, for such students too, their college credit card is the first one that is truly theirs.
College credit cards are not very different from other types of credit cards in the basic sense; they function in a similar way as any Mastercard would. However, there are some differences, which basically arise from the fact that college credit cards are used by people who have no prior experience with credit cards and who perhaps don’t understand the concept of credit cards completely. Thus , the credit card provider is at risk with issuing mastercards ( university cards ) to such folks whom he’s unsure about. Almost all of the scholars do not have a credit score either. In such a case, the supplier of college credit card cannot be sure of receiving the credit card bill payments in time (and even receiving them at all). To deal with such risks , the provider of school Mastercard needs the parent of the coed to co-sign the university card application document as a guarantee. Moreover, the credit limit on college credit cards is generally around $500-$1000 per month, which is lower than what it is for other credit cards (this credit limit is generally sufficient to fulfil the typical needs of a student). Another risk mitigation instrument used by the college credit card suppliers is the interest rate or APR. The APR on school cards is often higher than that for other mastercards. Again, this is done to dissuade the scholars from overspending on their varsity Mastercard ( and eventually not having the ability to pay their card bills ).
Nonetheless if we were to take a look at these impositions in a positive sense, we might find that these are really in favor of the coed ( who is still getting given training to take on the actual world of cards ). Also , university visa cards also help the scholars in establishing a ( good ) credit score which is another vital benefit that becomes convenient when the scholar desires any type of loan at a later stage in his / her life.
So, college credit cards are actually something that each student should think about going for.

What’s the average credit limit for citi college credit card?
What’s the average credit limit for citi college credit card?
I’m thinking to apply for a citi college credit card. I have no credit limit, so that would be my first credit card. By the way, Wells Fargo seems very enthusiastic to offer a college credit card to me, but I heard that Wells Fargo offers very low limit while citi is generous.
No recommendations please.
I also heard that citi sometimes offers about $2000 limit to students who apply for the first time. Is it true?
The limit is usually between $500 to $1,000 on the first credit card a person gets.
Note: That any time you use more than 30% of your available credit limit your rating starts reducing.
Ex: If your limit is $1,000, never use more than $300 at any time during the month.
New Federal Laws passed in 2010 will make it nearly impossible to get a card unless you are 21 or older.
You must have stable employment, a credit history, and strong ability to pay back.
Be aware of this, and consider a secured card to build up your credit.

If you have a full time job for at least a year, you may get the $2,000 limit.
